Coronavirus Update

March 23 2020

We would like to reassure all of our clients that we continue to monitor the situation regarding Coronavirus closely.

In line with current government regulations, we have adjusted our mode of operation from an Auction House (open to the public) to an online auctioneer until further notice.  With immediate effect (23rd March 2020), ALL future auctions will therefore be ONLINE ONLY until further notice.

NOTICES FOR BIDDERS

  • Auctions will be listed on our website and bidding will be available ONLINE ONLY.
  • It will not be possible to view items prior to auction.
  • We are happy to provide further information, condition reports and additional images via email where required.
  • We have an in house, cost effective, shipping service and can ship the majority of items worldwide. If an item is particularly large, bulky or fragile however, please check with us in advance that we are able to ship.
  • Whilst prompt payment is still required, we are happy to store items without charge for collection/shipping at a later date, when the current situation has settled down.
  • UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES MAY MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC ATTEND OUR PREMISES UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

NOTICE FOR VENDORS

  • At this stage, all auctions will continue as planned, although they will be ONLINE ONLY from until further notice.
  • Of course, we cannot at this stage predict the overall impact on bidder numbers and sale prices for future auctions, however in order to protect vendors interests, where no reserve has been set, we will apply our own reserves at 70% of the low estimate, unless instructed otherwise.
  • Valuations can be done by email and/or Skpe.
  • UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES MAY MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC ATTEND OUR PREMISES UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

We have sufficient stock already consigned to continue running smaller auctions for the next few months.  We are operating however with just Paul and myself (directors) and one member of staff  (Dan, our Assistant Auction Manager), who has chosen to continue working at this stage and will travel to work by car therefore avoiding public transport.  All other staff have now been furloughed, so please be patient; we will deal with emails/enquiries as quickly and efficiently as we can.

In the meantime, we hope that all of our customers remain safe and well during this difficult time.

Best wishes

Karen and Paul Fairweather (Directors)
