Another Huge Bowie Success For Omega

A telephone bidder from the UK took home a piece of music history at our Music Memorabilia sale of March 12th, spending a cool £49k (inc premium), for a fantastically rare reel to reel recording that included an acoustic version of David Bowie’s ‘Starman’. Press attention had reached a fever pitch just before the bidding started, with film crews from Channel 5 and ITV in place in the saleroom to record the reaction of vendor Kevin Hutchinson.

Records were broken during the ‘Peter Hook Signature Collection’ auction, held here at Omega Auctions in a packed out saleroom. With more than 100 bidders and spectators in the room and almost 400 bidding online from all four corners of the globe, competition was fierce for the historic sale of the former Joy Division bassists incredible personal archive of memorabilia, artefacts and music from over 40 years of collecting.
Bowie Acetate Sells For £14,145 in Glam Rock sale

Incredible results in Glam Rock Auction featuring dozens of items of David Bowie memorabilia & Queen memorabilia etc. Star results was £14,145 for a David Bowie (Space Oddity) acetate, estimated at £5,000-£7,000.
The Peter Hook Signature Collection

Legendary Joy Division bassist, Peter Hook is to hold an exhibition and auction of his wide ranging and historic collection of Joy Division and Factory Records memorabilia which as one of the most avid collectors he has put together over his four decades in music. The “Peter Hook Signature Collection” features many rare items from Hooky’s first band Joy Division as well from Factory Records including equipment, instruments, Hooky’s own guitar, rare vinyl, unique artwork and original posters from the era. The collection marks the first time these have been brought together for fans to view and is made up of many items, unseen since the ends of both Joy Division and Factory.
